For this project, we worked with the team at Luminaria Wilderness Ventures. At the time, they hadn’t launched their website yet. They had started the project and had most of the site built out. They brought our team in to optimize it for search, improve performance, and make a few final web design changes.
Web Design Changes:
- Remove white line from header bar (global)
- Set up 3-line mobile menu (All pages except splash page)
- Change Menu background to brown (see website tones)
- Replace logo (client file) and make header larger with larger logo (for readability of logo’s bottom line)
- Remove social media icons from footer
Administrative Changes: Set up Bluehost Backup and restore (with backups and one-click restore)
Search Engine Optimization:
- Create spreadsheet with focus keywords for each page (approved by client)
- Assign keywords to each page in Yoast tool.
- Write new page titles (meta) and metadescriptions for each page, including focus keywords. (approved by client)
- Use focus keywords in image alt text (as appropriate)”
Analytics Setup:
- Create Client Google Analytics account + connect to site kit
- Create Client Google Search Console account and connect to site kit
- Run page speed insights (review results with client)”
Final Checks and Page Speed Test:
- Review + Resize images/videos as appropriate (discuss with client)
- Review whether a minimizer is necessary, install and run (discuss with client)”
- “Review Mobile Responsiveness on all pages (discuss with client)
- Make Adjustments as needed”
Content and Copywriting:
This project also included drafting content related to the team member’s experience and media appearances. Additionally, I proofread all the content and improved readability for search.
